Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) has begun to purchase accommodation for the homeless. There most recent buy was for five properties and cost £40.6 million. The idea of this acquisition was so that the properties could be leased on a sustainable rent to different specialized homeless charities.
REIT will be helping to house 800 people within the homeless community across England by ensuring that homeless charities are able to care for their clients. This shows that for some companies the benefit is not always for maximizing profit but rather the wellbeing of society's most vulnerable people.
